Penn State Mont Alto held its annual Day of Service/Every Day is Arbor Day event on Wednesday, April 12. More than 100 faculty, staff and students gathered bags of leaves/debris, picked up downed branches, raked mulch, pulled weeds and ivy, and planted a variety of trees and flowers.
On April 15, the Penn State Mont Alto Woodsmen Team took first at the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Spring Woodsmen’s Meet in Cumberland, Maryland. This annual competition is the culmination of the season each academic year.
Penn State Mont Alto’s commemoration of Black History Month will continue with two additional speakers in its Black Resilience series. On Monday, Feb. 20, Lance Walker from Chambersburg Area School Board will address students, faculty and staff; and Tracie Potts from the Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College will lead the Monday, Feb. 27, discussion.
The Mont Alto LaunchBox powered by Penn State is hosting its sixth annual LION Tank on March 22. Regional entrepreneurs are invited to apply to participate in the pitch competition by midnight on March 1.
Entrepreneurs will have a chance to test out their ideas at the winter 2023 Idea TestLab, sponsored by the Mont Alto and York LaunchBoxes. Applications are being accepted now through Jan. 9, 2023, for this free, five-week, virtual accelerator designed to help entrepreneurs determine the viability of their business idea.
